Rotary Valves
Rotary valves are used for shutting off, discharging or volumetric metering of bulk material from vessels or processes into downstream plant areas.
Mehr lesenThe mode of operation of the rotary valve is based on a rotor equipped with a certain number of rotor blades, which rotates in a housing. The rotating rotor picks up bulk material in the inlet area and fills its rotor cells. The rotary motion transports the bulk material in the cell to the outlet. There, due to the gravitational force, it falls out of the cell into the adjacent plant area. This results in volumetrically continuous conveying. The conveying capacity is determined by the contents of the rotor cells and the speed of the rotor. Gas flows through the rotary valve due to pressure differences between inlet and outlet are minimized by narrow gaps between the rotor and the housing.
